Amazon’s Alcoa fulfillment center is set to launch “later this summer” according to WVLT News. The center was originally estimated to open in May 2022, then in October 2022. The new 634,812-square-foot facility is scheduled for opening in the summer of 2023 and will create nearly 800 full-time jobs.
The Alcoa fulfillment center is located just east of the Alcoa Highway and Pellissippi Parkway interchange on an 84-acre property. The developer Hillwood Enterprises has already begun work on the property.
The new facility will be Amazon’s second fulfillment center in East Tennessee. The first one is set for the spot where East Town Mall used to be in North Knoxville. Amazon has not yet shared any new information about the Knoxville fulfillment center.
The Alcoa fulfillment center will be a great addition to the area and will provide many job opportunities for the community.
