Form Submission Error Fixed

We recently identified and resolved a technical issue on BlountTN.net that was preventing some of our online forms from submitting correctly.

What Happened?

Several users reported receiving a nonce_failed error message when trying to submit business suggestions or contact requests. In web development, a “nonce” (a “number used once”) is a security measure used to verify that the person submitting a form is a legitimate user and not a malicious bot.

A technical glitch caused these security tokens to expire or mismatch, which led the website to block the submissions entirely to protect the site’s integrity.

The Resolution

Our team has implemented a fix to reset and synchronize these security protocols. All forms across the site are now fully operational. You can once again use our platform to:

  • Submit Business Suggestions: Nominate your favorite local spots for our “Local Legends” program.
  • Contact Us: Reach out with general inquiries or feedback.
  • Community Updates: Share news and events happening around Blount County.

We take the “written record” of our community’s input seriously, and we apologize for any inconvenience this brief disruption may have caused. If you attempted to send us a message over the last few days and didn’t receive a confirmation, please feel free to resubmit it now.

Updated Tech Stack

It’s been a while since we have had any type of update. This is mainly due to the workload with Castle Web and finishing up client projects. I have updated BlountTN.net to include a much more modern technology stack and added a new framework. This allows me to add new features later on without any hassle.

I updated the directory system as well which includes the business, restaurants and places listings. I am slowly working on the verification, claims and listing ownership system. This will allow business owners to take control of their listing here.

That is it for now, if you have any suggestions, please send them over to me by visiting the suggestion box!

BlountTN.net open beta now in session

We have opened up the site for now to the public. The site is read-only at the moment and does not contain any account creation or features. These features will come at a later date. Right now, we ask visitors to browse around the site, looking for bugs and to suggest businesses, places and anything else you can think of that you would like to see on the site. We want this site to be a central hub for everything Blount County, TN and we can only do that with your help!

BlountTN v0.8

As of now, the BlountTN.net website is in beta. We still have a lot to do such as building up the business and restaurant directory among other things. While in beta, we invite users to test the site, make suggestions and let us know what you think and what you would like to see.

Any questions, just let us know here in this thread.

Some things we are working on as of 01/30/23

  • Business Directory: Adding a feature that allows listing owners and managers to list your services in an organized repeater system. This would allow you to list the service title, description and starting prices
